Mac N' Chizou Bites

Looking for some tasty plant-based NYE's party food? Check out these Mac N'Chizou Bites, you and your guests will love them! 

Ingredients (for 15 bites)

  • 300g de "coquillettes" pasta
  • 375ml (plant-based) milk
  • 2 tablespoons (plant-based) butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon mustard or mustard powder
  • 2 eggs (or vegan "egg": 1 tablespoon mixed linseed & 3 tablespoons water
  • 200g breadcrumbs
  • 150g de Chizou Tex Mex (or a mix of Chizou)
  • Oil (for frying)


  • Cook the pasta
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter, add flouer & whisk for 1 min.
  • Add milk slowly whilst whisking to create a thick sauce
  • Add mustard and Chizou until it melts
  • Add the pasta to the sauce, mix well so it's all covered
  • Lay flat on a surface covered by cooking paper & place in the fridge for 30 min at least
  • Roll the pasta-sauce mix into balls & put bag into fridge for 30 min
  • Break the eggs (or prep the vegan ones) and drop each ball into the egg mix before covering with breadcrumbs
  • Heat up a pan with a good amount of oil & fry each ball for 1 min until it's nicely golden. Remove excess oil with kitchen roll.
